I’ve always known that most animals radiate a playful energy.  That explains why kids are drawn to them so easily.  And it also seems that they are able to communicate in a way adults don’t.  When I was a little girl growing up in Guyana.  We had about a dozen cats of all ages.  There was this old mother cat that kept on making babies.  God knows who the father was.   We always seemed to have kittens being born all over the house.  Mother cat usually deliver her babies under the beds.   I was always surrounded by cute furry  kitties.  We had one dog.  My memory of our dog isn’t very clear.  I think he died when I was too young to remember.  I vagely remember him being a white haired dog.  His name was Rover.

Now as an adult, we have dog named Roscoe.  He is mixed with Beagle and Pinter or so we think.   Roscoe came to us as a baby.  He was one month old and could barely walk properly.  My son insisted on adopting Roscoe.   Even though we protested, he still ended up in our home.  The first few weeks was hard training him.  He peed and pooped in the house in places that was private for him.   Ugh…..we didn’t like it.  We told our son that Roscoe needed another home.   But by then, we were all too attached to this little four-footed creature with black hair and golden highlights.   Not that we didn’t love him instantly.  He needed a lot of care and attention.  A lot of the responsibilities fell on me and my husband when my son was out operating his business.  One day I said to my husband “Let’s not fight it anymore, let’s just embrace it.  I think he’s here for a reason”   It was around Christmas time when our spirits are high.  I think it sank it a bit.

Roscoe brought love and joy to our lives when we didn’t even know we needed it.  This pure being of light was the energy that was needed to balance the energy in our home. It’s what we look forward to when we wake up, when we come home and when we go to bed.  Just by being himself, we can enjoy him.  Just by feeding him water and food and watching him eat is so healing and heart-warming.  That feeling that this soul solely depends on us for his well-being.   In return, he offered unconditional love and deep compassion.   His pure energy is what we draw upon.  No matter if we get mad at him and yell at him, he doesn’t seem to care.  He still loves unconditionally without expectation.

If I am not feeling well or I am not feeling myself, he instinctively knows and stays closer to me and offer his compassion by lying next to me.  As if to say, I’m here for you.  And I do feel his healing energy.  It’s true, animals are psychic, they can read your energy and know your emotions. They can also read if you have any health conditions needing attention.  My friend Michelle was just telling me that her friend’s dog detected that her owner had cancer before her friend knew it.  The dog kept going up to her upper belly area and nudging her with a sniff.  Finally she went to a doctor and realized that her dog was trying to tell her that something was wrong in that area.

Many healers that I know has cats or dogs as pets.  I see the connection.  Pets keep us balance by helping us to diffuse some of our dense emotions and energy.  Healer benefits from having pets, we all do.  I believe deep in my heart, that this is god’s way of sending loving pure energy companions to assist us on our journey here on earth.  I for one am very greatful that Roscoe was sent to us.

Pets bring down your stress level and bring more joy and happiness your lives.  It’s a gift, it’s a blessing.  If you’ve been on the fence of getting a beloved pet, then perhaps you are ready.  They become your family and take over your heart and home.  Ahhh….it’s a sweet beautiful kinda love.  It’s beneficial, believe me.

Now, I do feel a little out-numberd since there are now four boys in the house.  But the energy feels balanced.  Yes, the boys are messier.  Perhaps a girl kitty could possibly help.
Yes, we love our little cookie monster!
